New Castle County, Delaware Unveils New GIS Map Viewer
Lancaster, Pennsylvania–The County of New Castle, Delaware, recently redesigned and overhauled its county website as a demonstration of executive commitment to open and transparent government and a desire to provide citizens easy access to on-line public records. A component of this initiative involved the development of a new web-GIS mapping application called "Geographic Information Systems Map Viewer" which provides an intuitive easy-to-navigate user interface combined with powerful search tools to interrogate map content and retrieve public records.
"This state-of-the-art viewer is a focal point of the County's new web site", said Mr. Pat Susi, New Castle County's GIS Manager. "To date, public feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, especially with regard to the ease of navigating the interface, searching for properties, and accessing property records and map drawing performance. As the administrator, I particularly like the ease of managing the viewer content through the flexible configuration options."
