Canterbury Incident Map

At 12:51 p.m. on February 22, 2011 a magnitude 6.3 earthquake hit the South Island of New Zealand near the city of Christchurch. The Esri distributor in New Zealand, Eagle Technology Group in collaboration with Environment Canterbury has published an incident map to assist the emergency effort.  This is largest aftershock following the 7.1 quake that struck the area September 4, 2010.

The goal is to disseminate information widely, inform the general public of the worst hit areas, and facilitate recovery planning. Map layers are being added over time as more data becomes available.
