Standard GIS Framework

The ArcGIS Engine Developer Kit provides a standard framework for developing GIS applications. The ArcGIS products (ArcView, ArcEditor, ArcInfo, and ArcGIS Server) are built from this same set of software objects called ArcObjects components.

ArcGIS Engine is both robust and extensible, and its rich functionality allows developers to concentrate on solving the business logic of their application, rather than building GIS functionality from scratch.
