ArcGIS Online includes ready-to-use analysis and visualization tools that work with your maps and apps. Organizations around the world use these tools to look for new locations, expand their businesses, generate delivery routes for their field staff, analyze customer data to gain deeper insights, and more.

Geocoding and Place Search

With ArcGIS Online’s World Geocoding service you can convert an address to an XY coordinate and append the result to an existing record in a database. You can also reverse geocode an XY coordinate to get an address, or batch geocode large number of addresses. All geocoding results are stored for later use.

If you just want to locate an address or find a place, feature, or point-of-interest, use the Geosearch function. The search result is displayed on the map, but not stored for later use.

The World Geocoding and Geosearch services use the most recent commercial street data and provide address geocoding capabilities for over 100 countries.

Directions and Routing

ArcGIS Online’s network analysis services help you optimize transportation challenges. Generate simple routes and driving directions or solve more complex routing problems that include multi-vehicle routes and time windows. You can also calculate drive times to a given location, or find the closest location based on a number of parameters, for example current location, distance, time of day, traffic conditions, and other factors.

Spatial Analysis

Spatial analysis helps you understand geographic relationships in your data and answer questions such as: Where is the best location for a new school or retail store? How many crimes have occurred within a city? and, Where are the traffic accident hot spots within a county? You can share the results of your analysis with others in your organization or share them publicly with a broader audience.

Data GeoEnrichment

Add more context to your maps by geoenriching it with Esri’s demographic and lifestyle data. Get details about consumer behavior, market potential, household income, and more. You can get this data as map layers, interactive infographics, or preformatted PDF reports. And if you are working in Excel or SharePoint, you can append the demographic and lifestyle data using Esri Maps for Office or Esri Maps for SharePoint.
