Map Services

Ready-to-use ArcGIS Online standard map services are available in 2D and 3D and are cached and cartographically rendered to support multiple-scale display.

ArcGIS Online standard map services are available at no cost for internal (personal or within an organization) and noncommercial, external use. To use these services for commercial purposes, you must purchase an annual subscription. ArcGIS Online standard map services can be used with ArcGIS 9.2, 9.3, and 9.3.1 and ArcGIS Web Mapping APIs.

ArcGIS Online premium map services are available for internal and external, including commercial, use by purchasing an annual subscription. Subscription fees differ for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Server, and ArcGIS Web Mapping API users. To use ArcGIS Online premium map services, you need ArcGIS 9.3 or 9.3.1 or ArcGIS Web Mapping APIs.

ArcGIS Online Standard Map Services include

• USA/World Bundle—Satellite imagery for the world and aerial imagery for the United States, plus street, physical, shaded relief, and political maps for the world
• World Street Map—Multiscale street maps for the United States, Canada, Japan, and several countries in Europe and other parts of the world
• World Physical Map—Natural earth physical map, plus topographic maps for the United States
• World Imagery—Satellite imagery for the world and aerial imagery for the United States

ArcGIS Online Premium Map Services include

• Bing Maps—Worldwide aerial and satellite imagery, including roads, and hybrid imagery (overlaid with roads and labels)
• USA Prime/World Bundle—High-resolution color imagery for the contiguous United States, plus World Street Map and World Physical Map
• USA Prime Imagery—High-resolution color imagery for the contiguous United States
