Standard Map Service: World Imagery

World Imagery is a set of standard map services available at no cost for internal use (personal or within an organization) and noncommercial, external use. To use these services for commercial purposes, you must purchase an annual subscription. World Imagery can be used with ArcGIS 9.2, 9.3, and 9.3.1 and ArcGIS Web Mapping APIs.

What You Get

Ready-to-use cartographically rendered and cached 2D and 3D maps delivered as a Web service including

Basemaps

• World Imagery—Satellite imagery for the world and high-resolution aerial imagery for the United States

Reference Maps

• World Boundaries and Places—Country, state/province, and county or equivalent boundaries and place-names for the world; intended as an overlay for basemaps with darker backgrounds
• World Transportation—Transportation data, including highways, roads, railroads, and airports
• World Elevation—90-meter and 1-kilometer elevation data for the world; intended for 3D terrain visualization
• USA Elevation—30-meter elevation data for the contiguous United States; intended for 3D terrain visualization
