ArcGIS Online

Task Service: World Routing

ArcGIS Online World Routing is a standard, no-cost service for ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Server users for internal and noncommercial external use. You can use this service with ArcGIS Server 9.2, 9.3, or 9.3.1 or ArcGIS Web Mapping APIs. Routing services are available in ArcGIS Desktop 9.2, 9.3, and 9.3.1 through the Find Route dialog box.

The World Routing service uses the most recent commercial street data from Tele Atlas and provides point-to-point and optimized routing for North America (U.S. and Canada) and Europe.

The standard World Routing service includes

  • 5,000 routes per year
  • 10 route stops per route
  • 25 barriers per route
  • Multilanguage
    • Danish
    • Dutch
    • French
    • German
    • Italian
    • Norwegian
    • Portuguese
    • Spanish

Note: The World Routing service does not include the World Geocoding service. If you need to use addresses for start, end, and intermediate points, you will need to also connect to the World Geocoding service. For commercial use applications, both services require the purchase of an annual subscription.

Need to create more than 5,000 routes per year or use this service for commercial purposes?

Purchase an annual subscription that gives you blocks of 5,000 routes, including 20-route stops and 250 barriers per route. You need ArcGIS Server 9.3.1 or ArcGIS Web Mapping APIs to access this version of the World Routing service.
