The ArcGIS 3D Analyst extension gives you powerful capabilities to create and maintain 3D data, all within a 3D context. All the standard ArcMap editing options—undo, redo, edit templates, etc.—are supported, as is the classic snapping environment.

On-the-fly editing allows you to explore different scenarios, so concepts can be quickly viewed in 3D, evaluated, refined, or tossed aside.

You can't view, edit, or make evaluations of a vertical line in 2D, but it's intuitive in 3D. Changes you make to a transportation network within a building make sense and have meaning when viewed and edited in 3D.

You can create photorealistic complex textured objects, such as buildings, by exporting 3D objects to COLLADA, adding texture, then importing them into your 3D scenario.

Accurately visualize and edit features that live in vertical space

Working in 3D enables you to accurately visualize and edit features that live in vertical space.
