How does Maplex for ArcGIS save me time?
By placing more labels properly the first time (automatically), you will save the time and expense of editing overlapping labels, adding missing labels, and repositioning labels.
I just make parcel maps, not atlases. Can Maplex for ArcGIS help me?
Absolutely. Maplex for ArcGIS provides many options for placing complex text and labels inside polygons. Maplex allows you to make the parcel maps that you need without having an operator create separate annotation strings for each parcel. By saving annotation to the database as feature-linked annotation, you only have to create labels once.
Maplex helps me make great maps. Can I share them with fellow users?
Because Maplex for ArcGIS generates standard ArcMap labels, these labels can be saved just like standard labels. First, they can be saved as dynamic labels in a map that can be viewed by anyone with ArcView. These labels could also be saved as text graphics in the map, allowing you to publish it with ArcGIS Publisher so the map and text could be viewed by anyone with the free ArcReader application. Labels could also be saved in a geodatabase, so anyone in your organization could quickly take advantage of text placement generated from Maplex for ArcGIS.

With ArcEditor or ArcInfo, you can create feature-linked geodatabase annotation from Maplex for ArcGIS labels. Feature-linked geodatabase annotation can not only be viewed by anyone with ArcView, but it also automatically updates as the location and attributes of your features change.
