Download Steps

1. Uninstall any previous versions of U.S. National Grid (USNG) Tools for ArcGIS before installing a newer version.
2. Ensure that you have administrative privileges on the machine and write permissions to the C:\Program Files directory.
3. Select the version for download:
   U.S. National Grid Tools for ArcGIS 9.3
   U.S. National Grid Tools for ArcGIS 9.2
   U.S. National Grid Tools for ArcGIS 9.1
   
   Note: U.S. National Grid Tools for ArcGIS capabilities are included in ArcGIS for Desktop 10. There is no separate add-on or download needed for releases of ArcGIS for Desktop 10 and higher. See Common Questions page for more details.
4. Extract the contents of the downloaded ZIP file to a directory on your local machine.
5. Run USNG.exe to install the U.S. National Grid Tools for ArcGIS add-on.
6. Start ArcMap. You must turn on the USNG Tools for ArcGIS add-on by selecting Tools > Extensions, checking the U.S. National Grid Tools box, and clicking close.
7. Toggle on the U.S. National Grid Tools toolbar (select either View > Toolbars or right-click in the toolbars region near the top of ArcMap).
8. From here, the coordinate and grid tools are available.
