The Southeast Alaska GIS Library uses the Esri Geoportal Server as its primary platform for users to search for geospatial information. It allows users to search the GIS Library's geospatial database, preview key metadata fields, assess spatial extents, and link to the GIS Library's website to download the datasets.

The RiskNat Geoportal is dedicated to the sharing of geographical information on natural hazards in the cross-border cooperation area of Italy, France, and Switzerland. The catalog allows federated searches in partner's catalogs, integrating distributed metadata created and maintained by all the partners involved. This is in accordance with the interoperability principles and guidelines of the European INSPIRE Directive and compliance with the Italian profiles for metadata.

The EPA's Environmental Dataset Gateway (EDG) is the central gateway for the EPA's environmental resources. Hundreds of geospatial resources are available to the public from EPA regions, programs, and labs all across the organization. It also includes EPA's data.gov metadata for non-spatial assets.

The Montana GIS Portal is a joint effort between the Montana Natural Resource Information System (NRIS) and the Montana Base Map Service Center. It enables users to search, discover, and access geospatial resources and web services about the state of Montana.

NOAA's (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) National Climatic Data Center (NCDC) built its geoportal to provide access to many forms of geospatial data, including dynamic mapping applications and OGC web services.

The NOAA National Oceanographic Data Center (NODC) provides long-term stewardship and preservation of ocean data. Its archives contain more than 25,000 data collections from ships, buoys, satellites, numerical models, and a wide variety of other in-water sensors. The NODC augments the Geoportal Server with an ocean basemap and ocean locator services.

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation uses the Geoportal Server to share its data with the public and amongst its various divisions and bureaus.

The Kentucky Geography Network is an OGC-compliant geoportal that provides users with simple tools to discover and share geospatial resources about the Commonwealth of Kentucky. It was produced using GeoMAPP Grant Funding from the Library of Congress.

Lombardy, a region in Italy, and its capital Milan is one of the wealthiest and most populous regions in Italy. The region's geoportal, the Geoportale della Lombardia, connects the geospatial data among the region's many organizations and stakeholders.

The Geospatial One-Stop (GOS) geoportal provides a one-stop ability to search for geospatial data from local, state, and federal sources; web mapping services; data collection activities; and geospatial best practices and standards. The geoportal is open and interoperable and incorporates industry-approved standards.
