What programming languages are supported for ArcGIS Runtime?
For Windows desktop development, Esri provides SDKs for Microsoft’s .NET Framework (Desktop Client, Windows Store apps, and Windows Phone), Qt, and Java SE. On Linux (32 and 64 bit), Qt and Java SE are supported. There are also Runtime SDKs for Mac OS X, iOS, and Android.
Is Mac OS X supported?
The ArcGIS Runtime SDK for OS X supports Mountain Lion Mac OS and Mac OS X Mavericks.
Does ArcGIS Runtime support 64-bit support?
Yes, ArcGIS Runtime supports 64-bit native code execution on Windows and Linux.
What types of Geodatabases are supported?
ArcGIS Runtime reads and writes file Geodatabases and Workgroup and Enterprise Geodatabases. The editing is limited to attribute and simple feature geometry. ArcGIS Runtime will not support Microsoft Access-based personal Geodatabases.
Can you use ArcObjects code with the new ArcGIS Runtime?
No, ArcGIS Runtime has a new API so existing ArcObjects solutions will need to be re-written.

Esri Education Services offers a number of instructor-led and free online classes to help you get up and running quickly with the ArcGIS Runtime SDKs.
