ArcLogistics customers consistently tell us that most of their cost savings occurs because they can plan a route according to multiple business factors (business rules, time windows, vehicle capacities) and the characteristics of the street network.
To extend these cost savings, ArcLogistics Navigator was created to help drivers adhere to the route. And with audible, turn-by-turn directions, drivers can focus on the driving and not fumble through printed maps.
Yes. That is one of the benefits of using the two products together.
If your devices have e-mail capabilities, you can e-mail routes to the device and update them throughout the day. When you send a new route, ArcLogistics Navigator discovers the route and alerts the driver.
Another option, which is a cost-effective option for smaller fleets, is to tether the in-vehicle device to the route planning computer at the end of the day, and download the next day's routes.
You or a dispatcher creates optimized schedules and routes in ArcLogistics that include stop sequence, specific street routes, preferences (highways/bridges/toll roads), streets selected for the route, and vehicle restrictions such as turn policies and road rules.
This route plan is sent directly to an in-vehicle device running ArcLogistics Navigator. Verbal and on-screen directions and maps prompt the driver at each stop with basic information (customer info, curb approach, delivery points).
If an obstruction is encountered, the driver can manually alter the plan, and ArcLogistics Navigator reroutes to the next stop. If a route plan is changed back in the office, the driver can be immediately updated.
ArcLogistics Navigator can be a cost-effective solution for providing logistics-tuned GPS guidance to a workforce using Esri's mobile products such as ArcGIS for Windows Mobile and ArcPad.
ArcLogistics Navigator installs on many common in-vehicle devices running on the Windows platform. This allows you to utilize handheld, dash-mounted, and tablet devices already installed in your vehicles. See system requirements below.
