Seafood Delivered Faster With ArcLogistics

Morey's Seafood International LLC is one of the largest fresh fish and seafood distributors in the United States. In fall 2000, Morey's began using ArcLogistics to improve the delivery of its products in the Detroit area, one of the firm's biggest markets.

In the first six months of using ArcLogistics, the average load per vehicle increased by more than 30 percent—from nine orders per route to more than 12. Morey's local delivery fleet of 28 trucks was reduced to 23, an 18 percent decrease. Loading fewer trucks more efficiently led to a significant reduction in transportation costs.

Morey's also uses an AVL system from CloudBerry to track vehicles and compare the real-time positions of vehicles with a route generated by ArcLogistics.
