- How can I extend the number of districts to more than the default value of 60?
- The default number of districts for the ArcView Districting Extension 3.1b is 60.
If you want to extend the number of districts to more than 60, you need to download new distdef.dbf and colors.dbf files here.
- If you want to extend the number of districts to up to 240, you should copy distdef.dbf and colors.dbf to your <AVHOME>\district (replace the two files with the same names).
- If you want to extend the number of districts to up to 600, you need to copy distdef.dbf and colors.dbf to your <AVHOME>\district. After replacing the files, you need to un-install the Districting extension and re-install it in ArcView for the changes to take effect.
- If you want to extend the number of districts to more than 600, you can change distdef.dbf and colors.dbf by increasing the number of records in these two dBASE files to the desired value. For the distdef.dbf, you need to auto-increment the unit and unitdesc fields. For the colors.dbf, you need to auto-increment the values in the Unit field and assign appropriate RGB values to the three color definition fields.
