The ArcView Image Analysis extension enhances the geographic imaging capabilities of ArcView by leveraging a broad range of readily available data types—including satellite imagery, aerial photography, orthoimagery, and other remotely sensed data.

Who Uses ArcView Image Analysis?

ArcView Image Analysis can supplement GIS analysis in many application areas. Traditional applications include forestry, natural resource management, agriculture, environmental assessment, infrastructure management, and environmental engineering. You can also take advantage of ArcView Image Analysis in application areas such as local government planning and growth management, zoning, site analysis and selection, and market analysis.

Why Use ArcView Image Analysis?

The results of an ArcView Image Analysis project can be used as input to applications that require ArcView Spatial Analyst or ArcView 3D Analyst software. You can also use the results of a spatial model as input into an ArcView Image Analysis project. ArcView Image Analysis provides a direct path from ArcView to ERDAS IMAGINE for users with more complex or sophisticated geographic imaging and processing needs.
