Build Custom Tools with the BusinessMAP SDK

BusinessMAP includes a Software Developer Kit (SDK) that enables developers to create custom tools, utilities, and automated tasks via an Application Programming Interface (API). The API can be used with any object-oriented programming language, such as .NET or Java. The SDK also includes sample applications with source code as well as documentation.

The tools below are examples of custom tools built with the BusinessMAP API and are available for downloading.

Active Layer Path Finder

If you cannot recall where the file for a specific map layer is stored on your computer, use this tool to display the file path name. Download this tool.

EZ Color Coding Wizard

This tool is a good alternative to the standard color code wizard because it assigns colors and color ranges automatically so that you have to make fewer decisions about what colors and color ranges to choose. Download this tool.

Grid Viewer

With the Grid Viewer you can add a grid to a map that divides the map into sixteen segments. Each segment is labeled and can be searched for all points that fall within the grid segment. You can use the grid to easily identify features on a printed map, or to conduct cluster analysis. Download this tool.

Threshold Ring Query

With this tool you can select a center location and enter a threshold level for a specific variable to analyze how far from the central location someone must go to meet the desired threshold level. For example, you can use the Threshold Ring Query to find out how far from a specified center point someone has to travel to reach a certain number of customers. You can also use the tool to find a specific number of ZIP Codes or other map features. Download this tool.

Zoom to Layer

This zoom tool allows you to zoom to a level where all points of a particular layer, such as a regional database layer, are displayed within the map view window. Download this tool.
