How can I develop applications with MapObjects?
MapObjects can be used with a variety of industry-standard programming environments such as Visual Basic, PowerBuilder, Visual C++, and others. MapObjects plugs directly into these familiar environments, allowing you to build applications quickly.
What is required to use MapObjects?
MapObjects can be used with any development environment that supports custom controls. It requires a 32-bit Intel-based Windows operating system such as Windows 95/98/Me/NT4.0/2000. Applications created with MapObjects will have, at a minimum, the same system requirements.
What is the difference between MapObjects and MapObjects LT?
MapObjects LT is a royalty-free lightweight version of MapObjects. Check out the MapObjects Feature/Function Comparison chart.
What data can I use with MapObjects?
MapObjects uses ESRI shapefiles, ArcInfo coverages, ArcSDE (Spatial Database Engine) layers, and a wide variety of standard image formats like .TIF, .BMP, and many others. Other databases and tables can be accessed using Microsoft's ODBC standard interface.
What data is included with MapObjects?
MapObjects includes ESRI Data & Maps, a large and comprehensive collection of data that allows you to immediately start adding maps to your applications.
