About the Authorized Training Program

The Authorized Training Program (ATP) is committed to supporting our clients and business partners in their efforts to meet the growing demand for quality training. ATP houses two programs, one for authorized instructors and one for Authorized Partner Education Centers (APECs). ATP instructor authorization is open to residents of the United States and U.S. territories, including overseas military bases in U.S. territories, and APEC authorization is open to facilities located in the United States.

Authorized Instructors
The Authorized Instructor program authorizes third-party instructors to train students using ESRI courseware. ATP is looking for candidates who have at least one year and 200 hours of experience as well as practical application or project experience with the software they would like to teach. Successful candidates have a working knowledge of the software and an ability to communicate geographic concepts, providing examples of how the software would be applied in real-world situations.

Authorized Partner Education Centers
ATP authorizes training facilities in the United States to offer select GIS software courses developed and tested by ESRI and taught by authorized instructors. Our classes attract students who are eager to learn ESRI software and know ESRI's reputation for excellence in GIS education.

Candidates outside the United States

The information on these pages does not apply to individuals and organizations outside the United States. Candidates outside the United States who are interested in teaching ESRI-developed courses should contact the training manager of their ESRI distributor.
