In support of this national goal, India is set to establish a next-generation GIS\u2014a National GIS\u2014that empowers its citizens, enhances efficiency in governance, and supports an inclusive social and economic order. Dovetailed into this larger vision of National GIS, the state of Karnataka has envisioned its statewide GIS subplatform.
