This contest gives teachers an opportunity to share the innovative ways they are using their school\u2019s ArcGIS Online subscription to more effectively teach not only geography but STEM and the humanities. Esri will award ten $500 prizes between September and June for the most compelling video.\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li><strong>Jim Bentley<\/strong>, who teaches at an elementary school in Elk Grove, California, uses ArcGIS Online and Survey123 for ArcGIS to help his fifth and sixth grade students explore issues in their community based on data they collect and analyze themselves.<\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>Erika Klose<\/strong>, a middle school science teacher in Winfield, West Virginia, uses ArcGIS Online with her seventh grade science students as often as she can in as many ways as she can to add a spatial component to the content in her teaching plans. She notes that her students see the value of real data. \u201cThey would much rather engage with real data in the real world.\u201d<\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>Maribel Ramos<\/strong>, a geography teacher at Akins High School in Austin, Texas, uses ArcGIS to increase the rigor of her classes and teach physical geography and current events. \u201cI want my students to think like geographers. I want them to be able to do analysis and project-based learning modules. I think my job as a teacher is to prepare my students to meet future demands. Outside the United States, the bundle is available worldwide through Esri\u2019s network of international distributors. If you are not already using ArcGIS, apply for an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.esri.com\/en-us\/industries\/k-12-education\/schools-software\">ArcGIS for Schools Mapping Software Bundle<\/a>.\r\n\r\nBecause the bundle includes an ArcGIS Online subscription with licensing for many students, from dozens to thousands, it helps schools take full advantage of one-to-one student computing. This is a growing trend in K\u201312 education in the United States and elsewhere to provide every student with a laptop or tablet device. The goal of one-to-one programs is improvement of students\u2019 technology skills and support of inquiry-based teaching methods.\r\n\r\nAny K\u201312 school teacher in the United States, (including districts and territories) who is using ArcGIS Online technologies or Esri instructional materials can enter. No purchase is required to enter or win. Simply create a testimonial video of 60 seconds or less in which you describe how you use ArcGIS Online, GeoInquiries, Survey123 for ArcGIS, or other ArcGIS software to teach your students. You can enter only twice during each challenge period (September and June). You should be the only identifiable person in the video, and it should not contain trademarked or copyrighted material.\r\n\r\n<a href=\"https:\/\/survey123.arcgis.com\/share\/a8eb37dc9fb44655bf9b56a9276a1b42\">Fill out the form<\/a> and provide a link to where your video can be publicly viewed (i.e., no login required). Entries for each monthly contest close on the last business day of that month at 5:00 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time. Videos not chosen for the month submitted may win in a succeeding month during the challenge.
