Share your vision<\/span> of the world you want to see by entering the 2024 ArcGIS StoryMaps Competition. Combine cartography, data analysis, graphic design, and photography to propose solutions to the world\u2019s greatest challenges. Your storytelling can inspire action and showcase innovation in GIS and storytelling. Entries are due December 6, 2024.<\/p>\r\n

You may submit one entry, either as an individual or as a member of a group. You can submit your ArcGIS StoryMaps story as a professional or student. To qualify as a student, you must be 18 years or older and a student pursuing a degree at a two- or four-year college or university. All members of a student group entry must qualify as students. All stories must be published to the public.<\/p>\r\n

There are five competition categories. Esri has enlisted five organizations\u2014all subject-matter experts in their respective fields\u2014to judge entries in one of the five categories and select the winners. The five categories and the organizations involved in judging them follow.<\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Digital Humanities and Popular Culture<\/h2>\r\n

Use your story to explore the intersection between humanistic study and technology.<\/p>\r\n

Stanford Libraries Map and GIS Team<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Health and Safety<\/h2>\r\n

Show how communities use GIS to connect their members with health and safety resources, better understand infrastructure capacity, allocate critical resources, or identify vulnerable populations.<\/p>\r\n

San Bernardino County Department of Public Health<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Humanitarian and Disaster Response<\/h2>\r\n

Create a place-based story about a disaster, challenge, relief effort, or personal experience.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

UN Refugee Agency<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Nature and Physical Science<\/h2>\r\n

Use a story to show how technology supports conservation success.<\/p>\r\n

International Union for the Conservation of Nature<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n

Planning and Infrastructure<\/h2>\r\n

Craft a story about how geospatial science and technology are being used to plan and build sustainable communities.<\/p>\r\n
