\r\n\r\nBut compass azimuths aren't required for rotating symbols, and you can use any value that makes sense for your needs. You can set the rotation angles to be measured clockwise or counterclockwise, depending on how values are stored.\r\n\r\nTo learn how to create rotating symbols, download\u00a0the sample CSV file<\/a>\u00a0and follow along. The CSV file contains web camera locations (dummy locations, not actual ones) as well as the direction in which the cameras are pointing, expressed as clockwise compass azimuths.\r\n\r\nStep 1\u2014<\/strong>Inspect the data.\r\n\r\nOpen the file using Microsoft Excel, Notepad, or some other text editor to view the contents. \r\n\r\nStep 2\u2014<\/strong>Add the CSV file data to your map.\r\n\r\nIn ArcGIS Online, either drag the CSV file data to your map or choose Add, then choose Add Layer from File).\r\n\r\nStep 3\u2014<\/strong>Change the style of the location.\r\n\r\nWhen you add the CSV file in step 2 above, Change Style automatically opens. \r\n\r\nStep 5\u2014<\/strong>Choose an arrow.\r\n\r\nChoose an arrow symbol from the Arrows category. \r\n\r\nChange the symbol size as desired, then click OK.\r\n\r\nStep 6\u2014<\/strong>Rotate the symbol.\r\n\r\nCheck the Rotate symbols (degrees) box, and from the drop-down choose Direction as the field containing values used for rotation.
