You can display the layers in a ribbon and add them to a map or globe.\r\n\r\nThis app is handy because you can share it with colleagues within your organization, giving them the ability to explore layer-based content and, if they wish, quickly create a map or scene based on the layers that have been added to the view.\r\n\r\nLayer Showcase includes several easily configurable components, including the following:\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>The map, authored by selecting layers from the ribbon<\/li>\r\n \t<li>A retractable ribbon that displays the layers found in the group, giving viewers the ability to add layers to the map<\/li>\r\n \t<li>A retractable side panel that displays either the group description when you first open the app or the layer item description when a layer is added to the map<\/li>\r\n \t<li>The table of contents, used to toggle layer order and visibility, adjust transparency, and display a legend<\/li>\r\n \t<li>A 2D\/3D map toggle<\/li>\r\n \t<li>A Create Map button that you can use to create a map or scene once layers have been added<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>"},{"acf_fc_layout":"image","image":224862,"image_position":"center","orientation":"horizontal","hyperlink":""},{"acf_fc_layout":"content","content":"<strong>Make a Layer Showcase<\/strong>\r\n\r\nFollow these steps to make and share your own Layer Showcase.\r\n\r\n<strong>Step 1<\/strong>. Create a group and add the layers you want to the group. Make sure that you include a complete description and a good thumbnail.\r\n\r\nThe\u00a0<u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.arcgis.com\/home\/group.html?id=2ecf4d25d85c4013934b7802e065a690\">Earth Layers<\/a><\/u>\u00a0sample group is used in the steps below. View the group description and review the contents and their descriptions to understand how they affect the app.\r\n\r\n<strong>Step 2<\/strong>. Review group and content sharing settings. When finished, click\u00a0Close.\r\n\r\nCreating a Layer Showcase is a good idea when you want to provide users with a collection of layers they can use to add to a 2D or 3D map and, if they wish, save the map. Sharing content in a Lawyer Showcase offers an alternative to using Map Viewer or Scene Viewer to author a map or scene.
