If a label was in danger of being unreadable because it would overlap with another label or a feature, or if a label was not quite close enough to the feature it identified, the editor would require adjustments as minute as 2 points (or 0.03 of an inch). \u00a0To help <a href=\"https:\/\/www.esri.com\/en-us\/arcgis\/products\/arcgis-online\/overview\">ArcGIS Online<\/a> users reposition labels precisely on web maps and avoid issues such as overlapping, Esri introduced an offset option for labels in the new Map Viewer. Using this setting, you can ensure that your labels will be easy to read by preventing them from overlapping, and you can fine-tune label placement relative to the features they identify.\r\n\r\nIn this tip, you will learn how to turn on labels for a layer and modify the label placement.\r\n\r\n<strong>Step 1:<\/strong> Go to the item page for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.arcgis.com\/home\/item.html?id=822a3fc379b84cef8be3c679f6374db3\">Crater Lake National Park Peaks<\/a>.
