The results of a <a title=\"View story map competition results\" href=\"http:\/\/sig2013.esrifrance.fr\/storymaps2013.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">story map competition<\/a> held at the recent Esri France SIG 2013 conference offered some compelling examples for me.<br \/>\nThe <a title=\"View story map\" href=\"http:\/\/www.arcgis.com\/apps\/MapTour\/index.html?appid=d4c0475e70f34063ae3cddf2c09d16e1\" target=\"_blank\">winning story map<\/a> merged themes of culture with urban and industrial heritage, but my favorite was a <a title=\"View story map\" href=\"http:\/\/www.arcgis.com\/apps\/MapTour\/index.html?appid=453131b7e3b840da842b913a6c290b0c\" target=\"_blank\">photographic tour of the Paris Metro<\/a>. This was a tough selection to make over my second favorite story map about the <a title=\"View story map\" href=\"http:\/\/sdis12.maps.arcgis.com\/apps\/MapTour\/index.html?appid=79f2d12ada474c62b199e9897ebc6e0e\" target=\"_blank\">seasonal migration<\/a> (or <em>transhumance<\/em>) of people and their sheep. Of course all of these story maps are in French.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.arcgis.com\/apps\/MapTour\/index.html?appid=453131b7e3b840da842b913a6c290b0c\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-2540\" src=\"http:\/\/www.esri.com\/about\/newsroom\/app\/uploads\/files\/2013\/10\/sm1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"650\" height=\"383\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>You can find many examples of story maps spoken in other languages, some of them found on the Storytelling with Maps community gallery.
