The focus of this year\u2019s event is the role of GIS to support better decisions across water, land, and ecological resources.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.awra.org\/meetings\/Sacramento2016\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-7728\" src=\"http:\/\/www.esri.com\/about\/newsroom\/app\/uploads\/files\/2016\/07\/AWRA-1024x228.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"142\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nEsri is a bronze-level sponsor and exhibitor at the conference, where a spectrum of topics will be covered in 37 sessions over the course of three days, ranging from water resource data development techniques to complex computer modeling infrastructures.<br \/>\n<!--more-->The conference organizing committee, led by Esri\u2019s Arc Hydro expert Dean Djokic, created <a href=\"http:\/\/www.awra.org\/meetings\/Sacramento2016\/doc\/final-program.pdf\">a program that will highlight the latest innovations in GIS<\/a> and supporting technologies applied to the water resources domain.<br \/>\n\u201cAs technology, data availability, and GIS utilization have matured, GIS is transitioning from an \u2018information\u2019 product to a \u2018decision\u2019 product generator. This conference highlights and reinforces this trend,\u201d Djokic said.<br \/>\n<strong>Esri Water Team Leading Technical &amp; Poster Sessions<\/strong><br \/>\nFive members from the Esri water team will speak with attendees about how GIS supports long-term water planning and policy decisions. They will show attendees how GIS can be used to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Capture, access, manage, and display large, complex spatial datasets<\/li>\n<li>Visualize, map, and analyze the relationships between water resources, weather, and society<\/li>\n<li>Build models of geographic processes that impact the environment<\/li>\n<li>Share data and maps that support community awareness, discussion, and action<\/li>\n<li>Connect with your network or infrastructure through real-time monitoring.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>One of the most anticipated sessions will be the Drone2Map demonstration by Esri\u2019s earth observations lead, Daniel Siegel.
