Of all largescale power outages between 2000 and 2023, roughly a quarter were caused by winter storms<\/a>, according to the nonprofit Climate Central.<\/p>\r\n

In the aftermath of such an event, GIS professionals gauge the accuracy of predictions and use that information to teach AI systems, helping \u00a0improve future assessments.<\/p>\r\n\r\n
