What’s New in Web AppBuilder for ArcGIS (December 2018)

Just in time for the holidays, our gift to you, the latest release of Web AppBuilder for ArcGIS is here! These are just a few of the reasons why you’ll want to use this new release:

We have added two new widgets, the first is the new Threat Analysis widget. It was built and designed to assist public safety personnel and first responders responsible for identifying safe distances and zones when planning events. For example, should an explosion occur at a location susceptible to attack, personnel want to be prepared with an understanding of what perimeters to set up, and what areas to evacuate.  To use the widget, you simply input a location by drawing on the map, using fixed coordinates or existing features for the type of threat . This will create the mandatory and safe evacuation zone distances.  It also includes the capability to publish those results as a hosted Feature Layer.

The second widget we added is the Visibility widget.  This widget helps you create a Radial Line of Sight (RLOS) analysis by determining what is visible from an observer location based on a given distance, height and a field of view.

You’ve asked, and we listened. You can now add layers as the barriers to your routing request in the Directions widget.  You can add barriers from your map layers that include points, lines and polygons.

The Analysis widget now includes Find Centroids, Find Point Clusters, and Summarize Center and Dispersion. One of my personal favorite enhancements is that you can now search in the 3D search widget by defining feature layers as a search source.
