ArcGIS AppStudio

Recap: AppStudio for ArcGIS at Esri User Conference 2019

A huge THANK YOU to all of you who made it to the Esri User Conference this year, especially to those who stopped by the AppStudio for ArcGIS booth or attended our technical sessions and demo theaters. This year, conference attendance was at a record level, and we were a bit overwhelmed (with joy, of course). In our showcase area, our young and passionate team of Developers and Product Engineers shared information about the product and its latest features, discussed specific case studies, and exchanged deep technical expertise with both new and long-time AppStudio users and developers. By the end of the week, we had hundreds of visitors to our booth, all of them walking away interested in building mobile apps.

The AppStudio user base is growing faster than ever, and new apps are created every single day by you, our customers, Esri Partners, and Esri itself. You saw a glimpse of these apps during the UC 2019 plenary, where we announced the release of a new app from Esri called ArcGIS QuickCapture, an app for rapid data collection, built on top of AppStudio. In addition, for the first time, we organized a power user meetup and had the opportunity to meet some of the most advanced AppStudio users. We listened carefully to their requests and were amazed to see all of the cool apps they are working on.

Our technical sessions, demo theaters, special interest group meeting, and user presentations were jam-packed with attendance. Luckily, if you missed it, we have one of our technical sessions, AppStudio for ArcGIS: An Introduction, available on Youtube (see below). The rest of the session recordings will be available for purchase.

Overall, we couldn’t be happier having met many of you in person, learning more about your experiences (both good and bad), and understanding your pain-points so that we can help alleviate them. Our goal is to make AppStudio more useful than ever, make you productive, and help you focus on building amazing cross-platform apps.

Right now we are busy wrapping up the development efforts for AppStudio for ArcGIS 4.0, a release that’s packed with new and exciting features. AppStudio for ArcGIS 4.0 is scheduled to be released by the end of Q3 2019, so please stay tuned for the announcement. If you missed us during the conference and want to talk to us, we are available on GeoNet, via Twitter, and at appstudiofeedback@esri.com

Thank you,

On behalf of the entire AppStudio team in Redlands, California and Melbourne, Australia,
