Too often, 3D data gets trapped in flat screens, slide decks, or PDFs. XR Viewer unlocks that work to give teams a way to see, feel, and collaborate around complex ideas in real space.
XR Viewer is a new way to interact with your GIS data, immersive and at scale. Instead of just imagining how a situation might unfold, like planning an emergency response or assessing the impact of a new development project, you and your stakeholders can experience it together in real-time. XR Viewer helps teams to get alignment fast, spot issues earlier, and present work in a way that clicks instantly even for non-technical audiences!
That’s the power of immersive clarity.
Designed to extend your 3D workflow, not complicate it
XR Viewer extends the value of your existing ArcGIS 3D ecosystem with intuitive, plug-and-play XR experiences that fit naturally into current workflows. You can create high-fidelity, game-engine quality immersive experiences, that work out of the box, no SDKs, custom builds or game-engine expertise required. It’s not a new system; it’s a new way to experience the system you already use.
With XR Viewer, you can:
- Use web scenes, 3D layers, and data from Map Viewer, Scene Viewer, or other data shared in ArcGIS Online to create immersive experiences for VR.
- Gather around a virtual tabletop, zoom from a bird’s eye view to ground-level, and explore together with stakeholders using shared avatars.
- Create presentations that highlight issues, show progress, or compare design options.
- Start with just a single headset or desktop. Use it solo or share your view to screens in a hybrid session so everyone can follow along, no extra devices needed.
It’s the same data, just a more immersive way to explore it.
Experience the difference, with no complex set up
XR Viewer is designed to get you up and running quickly, with minimal setup.
Here’s what you need:
- One supported VR headset (we recommend Meta Quest 3, 3S or newer) and supported PC.
- A high bandwidth network connection to access data from ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Enterprise.
- Featured content provided to help get you started.
No headset? Not a problem. Whether you’re working with just one device or none at all, you can still get started. Immersive experiences created with XR Viewer can be viewed right on desktop with a supported PC, or headset users can stream their view to a shared screen for group sessions. If you’re sensitive to VR or just prefer not to wear a headset, desktop mode offers a comfortable, fully accessible way to explore immersive content.
