This workshop introduces best practices for batch geocoding with ArcGIS. If you have a need to Batch Geocode addresses or places this session will walk you through optimized workflows for configuring locators and services as well as introduce tips and tricks for achieving optimal quality and performance.
Thursday, July 11, 12:15 pm – 1:00 pm SDCC – Expo Demo Theater 11
This session will include tips about how to get the most performance out of your large batch geocoding jobs across the ArcGIS platform. Attend this session to learn how to optimize your system and locators to speed up batch geocoding in ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Enterprise.
ArcGIS Routing and Network Analysis:
Tuesday, July 09, 8:30 am – 9:30 am SDCC – Room 30 B
Thursday, July 11, 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm SDCC – Room 16 A
This session is for newer users of ArcGIS Network Analyst— an extension designed to model road networks and solve transportation—related problems. Network Analyst is often used to route fleets of vehicles, generate service areas, and perform site—selection analysis. The presenters will discuss using the ArcGIS World Routing and Analysis Services, your own network analysis services, and local network datasets to solve transportation analysis problems.
Tuesday, July 09, 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm SDCC – Room 30 B
Wednesday, July 10, 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm SDCC – Room 30 B
This session will discuss best practices for preparing your data for use with Network Analyst. This includes modeling network datasets that contain one-way streets, hierarchies, turns, signposts, and historical and live traffic. Considerations for building network datasets using travel modes will also be discussed.
Tuesday, July 09, 11:15 am – 12:00 pm SDCC – Expo Demo Theater 10
You might have used arcgis.com to get driving or walking directions or generate walking-based service areas. But your organization does not allow analysis to be performed on public clouds or requires all analysis to be done on your own infrastructure behind a firewall. In this demo theater we will demonstrate how you can get the network analysis capabilities available in ArcGIS Online on your own infrastructure using ArcGIS Enterprise. We will briefly discuss different options that you can use to publish network analysis services and how to pick the correct option.
Wednesday, July 10, 10:00 am – 10:45 am, SDCC – Expo Demo Theater 10
In this session, we explore options for transforming a meter reading problem into a model that is solvable with the Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP) Solver. We will step through a case study examining the methodologies and best practices used. We will also present other high-density routing problems and highlight the challenges in addressing them.
Wednesday, July 10, 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm, SDCC – Room 30 B
Who does your public transit system serve, and how well are these people served? How easily can people access important destinations by transit? This session will help you answer these questions using ArcGIS Network Analyst and your GTFS public transit data. You will learn how to incorporate your transit data into a network dataset and use it to perform network analysis, plus tips and tricks specific to working with transit in Network Analyst.

No data? No problem. Learn more about the people, housing, and businesses in your area of interest, on topics like income and poverty, supply and demand for various products and services, saving and spending behaviors, and more. In just minutes, you’ll tap into thousands of demographic maps in the Living Atlas, tweak one to suit your purpose, and see how to use GeoEnrichment to add a demographic context to your data.
Wednesday, July 10, 10:00 am – 11:00 am SDCC – Room 30 D
ArcGIS provides access to a wealth of demographic data. As a named user in an ArcGIS Online organization you can tap into this data. The Enrich Layer tools, available throughout ArcGIS, are the points of access. The enrich layer tools create new polygon features with demographic, business, economic, or landscape attributes that describe the area each polygon represents. In this session we will introduce GeoEnrichment, explain how it works, and show examples of the key patterns of use.
