ArcGIS Dashboards<\/span><\/span><\/a>\u00a0allows you to monitor\u00a0<\/span><\/span>field operations in real-time<\/span><\/span>. This is especially useful for monitoring projects<\/span><\/span>\u00a0created<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>in<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>ArcGIS Workforce<\/span><\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Before you can visualize<\/span><\/span>\u00a0project data in a dashboard, you<\/span><\/span>\u00a0need to\u00a0<\/span><\/span>create a joined feature layer view of Workforce layers.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>This<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>will\u00a0<\/span><\/span>combine<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>separate layers and tables from the\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Workforce schema<\/span><\/span><\/a>\u00a0so that\u00a0<\/span><\/span>the data in your dashboard is clear and informative.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

One<\/span><\/span>\u00a0reason for doing<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>this is<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>to\u00a0<\/span><\/span>combi<\/span><\/span>ne<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>the Assignments layer with the Assignment Types table.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>The Assignments layer on its own will only show the Global ID value of the Assignment type. You can create a joined feature layer view using either ArcGIS API for Python or ArcGIS Online. This workflow is not supported in ArcGIS Enterprise and does not apply to Classic projects<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Use ArcGIS API for Python<\/h2>\n

ArcGIS API for Python<\/span><\/a>\u00a0allows you to create a joined view layer and<\/span>\u00a0a<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>dashboard with one Python script<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>After you download the Workforce scripts and install ArcGIS API for Python, you\u2019ll be ready to create a dashboard in minutes. <\/span>Before you proceed,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>review the requirements for installing ArcGIS API for Python<\/span><\/a>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Download Workforce scripts<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

First, clone or download the\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>workforce-scripts GitHub repository<\/span><\/a>. This contains the Python scripts for Workforce as well as the version of ArcGIS API for Python needed to automate Workforce projects. Once it is downloaded, navigate to the \u201cworkforce-scripts\u201d folder in either the terminal or the command prompt.
