Hindou Oumarou Ibrahim<\/strong><\/h3>\n

SDG Advocate and environmental activist<\/em><\/p>\n

Hindou Ibrahim is an expert in indigenous peoples\u2019 adaptation to climate change, traditional ecological knowledge, and climate change mitigation strategies. She is co-chair of the International Indigenous Peoples Forum on Climate Change<\/a> and serves as an SDG Advocate under UN Secretary-General Ant\u00f3nio Guterres. From a Mbororo pastoralist community in Chad, Hindou founded the Association for Indigenous Women and Peoples of Chad<\/a> to empower indigenous voices with collaborative tools\u2014such as 3D participatory mapping\u2014to build sustainable ecosystems management and reduction of nature-based resource conflicts.<\/p>\n

A National Geographic Explorer, her\u00a0TED<\/a>\u00a0talk on Indigenous knowledge meets science to solve climate change has surpassed more than 1 million views.<\/p>\n
