Detection attributes include time, location, and intensity and it can be used to track the location of fires from a few hours ago up to seven days behind real time.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">These<\/span> <span data-contrast=\"auto\">detections show many<\/span> <span data-contrast=\"auto\">interesting hotspots <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">around the many ways this layer can be leveraged, but by far the most popular so far has been to track the wildfires that happened in the western United States over the 2020 summer.<span data-contrast=\"auto\"> Most of the 36 million views of this service <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">stemmed from <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">a variety of<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> maps and apps <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">helping <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">local governments, fire agencies, and <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">curious and worried map readers <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">track <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">ongoing fire<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> activity<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.\u00a0<\/span> <span data-contrast=\"auto\">As <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">th<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">e <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">use grew,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> different people<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> and organizations<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> began to<\/span> <span data-contrast=\"auto\">use <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">th<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">is<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> layer and<\/span> <span data-contrast=\"auto\">its <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">depth and versatility surprised us. <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">After spending some time thinking about how this layer could help better understand<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> wildfire<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> situational awarenes<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">s,<\/span> <span data-contrast=\"auto\">we <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">dove deeper into<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> answering:<\/span> <span data-contrast=\"auto\">H<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">ow <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">additionally <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">can <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Arcade be used to <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">visualize <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">VIIRS in terms of the <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">wildfire events that happen in the western United States and Australia<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">?<\/span><\/div>\n<h4>Example 1: Versatile by Default<\/h4>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The layer\u2019s default symbology is designed to be <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">functional <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">and <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">for<\/span> <span data-contrast=\"auto\">all-around <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">use globally<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">. <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Right out of the box<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> from Living Atlas<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> it can be <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">easily added to your web map or Pro project <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">to display <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">the <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">location and<\/span> <span data-contrast=\"auto\">characteristics<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> of fires <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">happing <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">right <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">now through the past seven days<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">. burning<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, where is it going,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> and how that might affect you?<\/span><span We can show the fire\u2019s <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201ccurrent\u201d<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> intensity<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">,<\/span><span
