ArcGIS Field Maps<\/span><\/a>\u00a0is a mobile solution\u00a0<\/span>that allows you to streamline field workflows and take maps anywhere. Maps are configured in the Field Maps web app\u00a0 and used in the field with the Field Maps mobile app. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Before mobile workers\u00a0<\/span>use maps in<\/span>\u00a0the field, it\u2019s important to ensure they have everything they need to be successful.<\/span>\u00a0For example, if mobile workers won\u2019t have internet access, prepare their maps for offline use.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>If they\u2019ll be collecting data, configure the form and feature template<\/span>s so they can easily capture assets and p<\/span>er<\/span>form inspections.<\/span> The<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Field Maps web app allows you to configure maps<\/span><\/span>\u00a0you\u2019ve created<\/span><\/span>\u00a0for the field\u00a0<\/span><\/span>so mobile workers are always prepared.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

My maps<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

When you first sign\u00a0<\/span>in to<\/span>\u00a0the Field Maps web app,\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>Maps\u00a0<\/span><\/b>page appears. This page shows all the maps you own and allows you to\u00a0<\/span>configure certain settings directly from the map card. <\/span>If you\u2019re an administrator, you can view and configure all maps in your organization. If you have maps that you don\u2019t want to appear in<\/span><\/span>\u00a0the<\/span><\/span>\u00a0Field Maps mobile<\/span><\/span>\u00a0app<\/span><\/span>, click the checkbox and then click\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Hide in Field Maps Mobile<\/span><\/span><\/strong>. This setting is helpful if you have maps made for dashboards or other apps that mobile workers don\u2019t nee<\/span><\/span>d in the field.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0You can view maps you\u2019ve\u00a0<\/span><\/span>hidden<\/span><\/span>\u00a0by clicking the\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Hidden<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>tab.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Duplicate<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>a map to create a copy that includes the same layers and settings. This is helpful if you have a map that\u00a0<\/span><\/span>you want to<\/span><\/span> repurpose for a similar workflow. <\/span><\/span>The map card also allows you to configure the\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Sharing<\/span><\/span><\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>settings, <\/span><\/span>begin t<\/span><\/span>o<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Configure<\/span><\/span><\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>the map, and\u00a0Delete\u00a0<\/strong>the map.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Map overview<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

When you click Configure<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>, the\u00a0<\/span>Overview\u00a0<\/span><\/b>page appears.\u00a0<\/span>From this page, you can check the offline and sharing settings for you map, and you can edit the title of the map, the <\/span>summary<\/span>, and the map\u2019s thumbnail. The\u00a0<\/span>Content<\/span><\/b> page displays all the items in your map, including editable layers,\u00a0<\/span>reference layers, tables, and\u00a0<\/span>basemaps<\/span>. From the\u00a0<\/span>Content\u00a0<\/span><\/b>page, you can add and remove layers and\u00a0 configure the form and feature templates for editable layers and tables. <\/span>Mobile workers use forms and feature templates when collecting data<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>in the field.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Feature templates<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

Feature templates help you categorize assets so mobile workers can easily collect specific kinds of data in the field.\u00a0<\/span>Feature templates you\u2019ve created using ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise, or ArcGIS Pro can be configured on the\u00a0<\/span>Content\u00a0<\/span><\/b>page of the Field Maps web app.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
