Bookmarks are another one of the great features that we have incorporated in ArcGIS Earth. With bookmarks you can save your favorite spots around the planet<\/span>\u00a0while geo-browsing, then<\/span>\u00a0click on the thumbnail and to fly\u00a0<\/span>back\u00a0<\/span>to that location.\u00a0<\/span>Users\u00a0<\/span>can easily edit bookmarks by name, reorder and play the entire lis<\/span>t, <\/span>as well as\u00a0<\/span>create and manage multiple bookmark groups.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

My favorite\u00a0<\/span>bookmarks<\/span>\u00a0function<\/span>,\u00a0<\/span>however,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>is<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>the informational<\/span>\u00a0pop-ups. In this blog we will highlight how to create and modify bookmarks and use them to create presentations. Additionally, we will show how advanced KML functionalities in ArcGIS Earth, such as KML Screen or Ground overlays, can be tied into this workflow to call attention to specific features or areas of interest within the 3D scene. Adding Screen Overlays<\/h2>\n

First\u00a0Select the\u00a0<\/span>Draw icon\u00a0<\/span><\/b>and the select\u00a0<\/span>Screen overlay.\u00a0<\/span><\/b>Navigate to the folder location\u00a0containing your overlay\u00a0image of choice. Adjust the image using the box around it and move it\u00a0anywhere on the screen. Screen overlays can be toggled on and off with bookmarks to dynamically highlight places of interest.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Creating Bookmarks<\/h2>\n

Click the Bookmarks button on the top menu to add a bookmark for this view. Click on the \u2018New Bookmark\u2019 text within the created bookmark thumbnail to change\u00a0the bookmark name. Optionally,\u00a0additional information can be added to each bookmark by clicking on the Description<\/strong> button of each individual bookmark. Information can be added by filling out a quick form to add context to what you are showing.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This process\u00a0can be repeated as many times as needed to convey the information\u00a0you want to highlight and share. In this example, we will add\u00a0in an additional arrow and bookmark\u00a0for the tall building behind the hotel.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
