At ArcGIS Pro 2.9 we added support for additional scene layer types in the <a href=\"https:\/\/pro.arcgis.com\/en\/pro-app\/latest\/tool-reference\/analysis\/clip.htm\">clip<\/a> geoprocessing tool. In the previous release we added support for clipping <a href=\"https:\/\/pro.arcgis.com\/en\/pro-app\/latest\/help\/mapping\/layer-properties\/the-integrated-mesh-scene-layer-in-arcgis-pro.htm\">integrated meshes<\/a>. In this release we have added support for clipping <a href=\"https:\/\/pro.arcgis.com\/en\/pro-app\/latest\/help\/mapping\/layer-properties\/point-cloud-scene-layer-in-arcgis-pro.htm\">point cloud<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/pro.arcgis.com\/en\/pro-app\/latest\/help\/mapping\/layer-properties\/the-3d-objects-scene-layer-in-arcgis-pro.htm\">3D object<\/a> scene layer packages. Clipping is still not supported for voxel, point, or building scene layer packages but we are working on this! The Create 3D Object, Point, and Building content tools support choosing a cloud connection to write i3sREST or output to a scene layer package. Additional tools will add support for i3sREST in the next release of ArcGIS Pro.<\/p>\n<p id=\"GUID-B7A43929-6075-43ED-87B8-9B19BDD2C2BB\" style=\"text-align: justify\">\u00a0 The <span class=\"usertext\">.i3sREST<\/span>\u00a0format is based on JSON, REST, and modern web standards. The\u00a0<span class=\"usertext\">.i3sREST<\/span>\u00a0format is optimized for web clients to handle, parse, and render when stored in cloud stores such as\u00a0<span class=\"ph\">Amazon S3<\/span>,\u00a0<span class=\"ph\">Azure<\/span> Blob stores,\u00a0<span class=\"ph\">Alibaba OSS<\/span>, or\u00a0<span class=\"ph\">Google Cloud<\/span>. The\u00a0<span class=\"usertext\">.i3sREST<\/span>\u00a0format is served directly from the data store, allowing improved scalability in\u00a0<span class=\"ph\">ArcGIS Enterprise<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p id=\"GUID-639B93DD-F998-455C-85CF-9706D2AEE701\" style=\"text-align: justify\">\u00a0 The ready-to-serve <span class=\"usertext\">.i3sREST<\/span>\u00a0format is best suited for scene layer content larger than 200 GB. You can create\u00a0<span class=\"usertext\">.i3sREST<\/span>\u00a0in\u00a0<span class=\"ph\">ArcGIS Pro<\/span>. At the 2.9 release the create mobile scene package tool now supports clipping and projecting scene layer packages. Vector tile packages and services are also now supported in a mobile scene package. ArcGIS Runtime 100.13 apps and later can consume these mobile scene packages. With this support you can reference additional basemaps if you&#8217;ve enabled the <em>Reference Online Content<\/em> parameter.
