Scene Viewer has been widely used on desktop browsers since its initial release. With this release, now\u00a0you can now check out your scenes\u00a0on your modern phone or tablet<\/a>. We’ve\u00a0optimized the\u00a0responsive\u00a0UI\u00a0of Scene Viewer\u00a0for\u00a0a\u00a0light\u00a0viewing experience on\u00a0phones.\u00a0On\u00a0tablets,\u00a0you can\u00a0create and update scenes or use tools such as Daylight or Measure. Scenes\u00a0support touch gestures for\u00a0easy\u00a0navigation such as zoom, pan, rotate,\u00a0and tilt\u00a0and they load and render\u00a0fast (read more below in the performance section). Edge Rendering<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Use\u00a0Edge rendering\u00a0to make\u00a0your scenes look stunning! This\u00a0new enhancement\u00a0allows\u00a0you\u00a0to\u00a0style\u00a0your building\u00a0(3D Object) scene layers,\u00a0with or without textures, by adding outlines\u00a0(edges)\u00a0to the building shapes. The edges will improve\u00a0depth perception and help you clearly see the details of the features within the\u00a0scene layer. Measure Area<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In the last release of Scene Viewer,\u00a0we added point to point measurement<\/a>\u00a0which helped you calculate distances and heights\u00a0interactively. In this release we have extended the measure tool to support area measurements<\/a>.\u00a0Use this tool to\u00a0calculate\u00a0ground\u00a0area and perimeter,\u00a0as well as,\u00a0vertical walls\u00a0and\u00a0roofs\u00a0by clicking on\u00a0just\u00a0a few\u00a0points\u00a0in the scene.\u00a0Adjust your measurements by simply clicking or tapping any point in the measurement and dragging\u00a0to\u00a0a\u00a0new position. The calculated area and perimeter will update automatically.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Performance\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Scene performance continues to improve.\u00a0This release we focused on\u00a0the\u00a0optimizations critical\u00a0for\u00a0mobile\u00a0device\u00a0stability and loading speed.\u00a0Also,\u00a0Scene\u00a0Viewer now proactively monitors\u00a0memory use\u00a0per layer and adjusts the\u00a0level\u00a0of detail\u00a0of the\u00a0data\u00a0\u00a0displayed\u00a0to keep memory under control.\u00a0This behavior can be fine-tuned with the Performance-Quality settings in\u00a0Scene Viewer.\u00a0Finally, scene\u00a0layers now use significantly less memory and\u00a0the loading logic has been moved to web workers so that data\u00a0loads\u00a0continuously, even while\u00a0you move\u00a0around\u00a0the scene.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n"},{"acf_fc_layout":"content","content":"

Miscellaneous<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Refresh Interval<\/span>:\u00a0Some of the layers you use in a web scene\u00a0are\u00a0dynamic and\u00a0updated on a regular interval. A refresh interval can help your layers in your web scene stay in sync with any changes taking place to the underlying data. The refresh interval is set on the layer either in the item details page or in\u00a0Map\u00a0Viewer and saved back to the layer.\u00a0 You can\u00a0add these layers into your web scene and they will automatically refresh at the set interval rate. For example,\u00a0you can use the tall cylinder 3D symbol for water gauges to display water levels and use the refresh interval to update the attribute driving the height of the cylinder.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
