In recent updates we added support for the <a href=\"https:\/\/community.esri.com\/t5\/arcgis-survey123-blog\/working-with-the-address-question-type-in-the\/ba-p\/1099211\">new Address question type<\/a>, introduced calculations, and added options to permanently hide questions in your form.<br \/>\n<a name=\"webmaps\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This release brings more enhancements to the Map and Address question types.<\/p>\n<h3>Use your own web maps in a survey<\/h3>\n<p>Up until this release, you could configure a default map for your survey. With it, you can author the most sophisticated forms using an XLSForm spreadsheet. The Survey123 field app is available for iOS, Android and Windows devices. \u00a0It includes advanced options to work with your smart forms from the field, or the office.<\/p>\n<p>The new build numbers for Survey123 Connect and the field app are 3.14.256 and 3.14.237, respectively.<br \/>\n<a name=\"calculations\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Faster calculations and new calculation modes<\/h3>\n<p>Calculations in a smart form allow you to populate questions based on previously entered responses. The calculation execution in the Survey123 field app has been optimized to make your forms faster. You will appreciate the difference when working with very large forms.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, starting with this release, you can specify three different <a href=\"https:\/\/doc.arcgis.com\/en\/survey123\/desktop\/create-surveys\/prepopulateanswers.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_FC295EA0A9354DCFA970B1D0B30D4DF4\">calculation modes<\/a> in your questions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Auto<\/strong>: The calculation is triggered if the question is empty or if it has not been previously modified by the user. This is the default mode and the only one available up until this release.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Always<\/strong>: Auto-calculates the value, even if the user has already entered a value.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Manual<\/strong>: Use this option if you want the user to trigger the calculation manually.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The new calculation modes give you more flexibility to dictate the logic of your form.<br \/>\n<a name=\"markup\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Markup photos, maps and diagrams with custom markup tool palettes<\/h3>\n<p>Survey123 includes image annotation tools. With them, users can markup photos, diagrams and maps. We gave these tools an <a href=\"https:\/\/community.esri.com\/t5\/arcgis-survey123-blog\/updates-to-draw-and-annotate-in-arcgis-survey123\/ba-p\/1100656\">overhaul in late 202<\/a>1. The Overview folder is useful when you want users of the Survey123 field app to view all survey records in a single map or list.<\/p>\n<h2>Other enhancements and important notes<\/h2>\n<h3>Improved report syntax<\/h3>\n<p>Use new <a href=\"https:\/\/doc.arcgis.com\/en\/survey123\/browser\/analyze-results\/featurereporttemplates.htm#ESRI_SECTION2_3C3505ED91684351918C1C48F999EF89\">report syntax<\/a> to display multiple records on a single map. You can also rotate photos!<\/p>\n<h3>Other release notes<\/h3>\n<p>As announced in <a href=\"https:\/\/community.esri.com\/t5\/arcgis-survey123-blog\/arcgis-survey123-deprecation-notes-may-2021\/bc-p\/1093694\">May 2021<\/a>, macOS installers for Survey123 Connect and Survey123 field app are no longer available with version 3.14.<\/p>\n<p>Access to the Survey123 field app and Connect source code in ArcGIS AppStudio is now available only upon request. <a href=\"https:\/\/survey123.arcgis.com\/share\/f16ab25193434ad692235565f5290619\">Complete this form<\/a> if you would like access.<\/p>\n<p>The next updates are planned for March 2022 and April 2022.
