Then a bit later I saw a luscious bathymetric cutaway graphic created by Aldo Lopez for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CWTvqPDvAii\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">GIS Day poster<\/a> last year. It just looked so charming and tangible and made me feel like it was a small slice of the earth itself, in a way that a conventional map perspective didn&#8217;t. I wondered if I could make one of these things in ArcGIS Pro. Gregory Buck made <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/posts\/gregory-buck-768745114_happy-friday-new-fun-map-day-linkedin-is-activity-6910708227047378944-MUoJ\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a version<\/a> showing the Grand Teton mountains erupting from a cross-section of the moon. GI.Rahul Gawai <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/posts\/rahul-gawai-08084a27_3d-esri-esriindia-activity-6910873063655940096-aL1Q\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">drew in geologic layers<\/a> beneath the Colorado River. James Wilson made a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/posts\/james-wilson-35127320b_id-been-wanting-to-include-some-geologic-activity-6910731658879021056-qV9u\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">detailed volcanic cross-section<\/a> of Mount Mazama. Jakob Hogenkamp made <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/posts\/jakob-hogenkamp-2a8bb21a4_after-watching-some-of-john-nelsons-many-activity-6910584480038592512-IO-x\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">his two mountain-scapes<\/a> floating handsomely on nothing at all. Wanmei Liang created a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/posts\/mapsbyw_cartography-mapsbyw-activity-6911699761070813184-sp79?utm_source=linkedin_share&amp;utm_medium=member_desktop_web\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mt St. Helens diorama<\/a> with clouds and steam. Heather Sauerland <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/posts\/heather-sauerland-gis_gis-esri-activity-6911215713873530880-rxJb\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">scooped out a cube<\/a> from the Owyhee Canyon. It&#8217;s so fun and I assure you you&#8217;ll be cranking out astounding little 3D diorama scenes all over the place. I&#8217;ve already been blown away by the things my fell map nerds are making.
