It also\u00a0enables\u00a0processing of\u00a0high-volume historical data\u00a0to\u00a0gain insights into patterns, trends, and anomalies.\u00a0Remote monitoring of assets, predictive maintenance, and process optimization are a few of the benefits\u00a0you\u00a0can gain from\u00a0your\u00a0sensor and IoT (Internet of Things) data using Velocity.<\/p>\n<p>ArcGIS Velocity is updated regularly, below are several highlights of the March 2022 release:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Licensing and performance:<\/strong> Run more feeds and analytics with the <a href=\"https:\/\/doc.arcgis.com\/en\/iot\/reference\/licensing.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_ED123B84EA774E64BB2F73B38E4CBD7E\">Standard<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/doc.arcgis.com\/en\/iot\/reference\/licensing.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_D1545F4B01044CF2A587335548E3C104\">Advanced<\/a> subscriptions.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Feeds, data sources, and outputs<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 The <a href=\"https:\/\/doc.arcgis.com\/en\/iot\/ingest\/grpc.htm\">gRPC<\/a> feed type is now out of beta and is fully supported in your production workflows.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Analytics<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/doc.arcgis.com\/en\/iot\/analyze\/geofencing-analysis.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_84FD23A9ED5D4C4B9BB582B300640B28\">Dynamic geofencing<\/a> and dynamic joins in real-time analytics are now out of beta and are fully supported in your production workflows.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Visualization<\/strong> \u2013 New user experience for setting default symbology for output <a href=\"https:\/\/doc.arcgis.com\/en\/iot\/visualize\/visualize-stream-layers.htm\">stream layers<\/a> including simple, class breaks, and unique value rendering options.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Now, let\u2019s take a deeper dive into each of these exciting new capabilities and enhancements!<\/p>\n<h1>Licensing and performance<\/h1>\n<p>In this release, you\u2019re now able to run more feeds and analytics across all subscriptions. With the Standard subscription, you can now run up to 10 feeds and analytics (previously the limit was 5). With the Advanced subscription, you can now run up to 15 feeds and analytics (previously the limit was 10). \u00a0In the Dedicated subscription, you will also be able to run higher numbers of feeds and analytics than previously as well. For details on these updates, see\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/doc.arcgis.com\/en\/iot\/reference\/licensing.htm\">Licensing<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, several enhancements were made in the Velocity app to keep you better informed of subscription management needs. For instance, notifications for feed data rates were improved to clarify the specific feeds exceeding max data rates. Another area notifications have been improved is when monitoring compute usage on Dedicated subscriptions. This now includes the ability for an administrator to set the cadence they prefer for compute notifications (daily, weekly, or monthly).<\/p>\n<p>Lastly, autoscaling has been enhanced especially for lower velocity feeds and real-time analytics. For example, enhancements have been added to avoid over-scaling when the data being ingested is in larger, infrequent batches, such as when polling a third-party\u00a0API like <a href=\"https:\/\/developers.google.com\/waze\">Waze<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Feeds, data sources, and outputs<\/h2>\n<p>Do you have use cases that require you to ingest real-time data using feed types not available in ArcGIS Velocity? If so, you\u2019re in luck with this release. The gRPC feed type, based on the <a href=\"https:\/\/grpc.io\/\">gRPC remote procedure call framework<\/a>, is out of beta and is fully supported for production workflows. This feed type allows you to push real-time data into ArcGIS via a hosted endpoint, by developing integrations for real-time data providers not supported out-of-the-box with Velocity. Note that, as with real-time analytics, there are limits on the supported output rates to hosted feature layers.<\/p>\n<h2>Analytics<\/h2>\n<p>At an earlier release, <a href=\"https:\/\/doc.arcgis.com\/en\/iot\/analyze\/geofencing-analysis.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_84FD23A9ED5D4C4B9BB582B300640B28\">dynamic geofencing<\/a> and dynamic join capabilities in your <a href=\"https:\/\/doc.arcgis.com\/en\/iot\/analyze\/perform-real-time-analysis.htm\">real-time analytics<\/a> were introduced in beta. With this release, we\u2019re excited to announce they are out of beta and fully supported in your production workflows. Dynamic geofencing and joins are important because they support use cases where finding relationships, performing spatial enrichment, and making decisions based on spatial proximity between two real-time feeds are necessary. Tools that support these capabilities include <a href=\"https:\/\/doc.arcgis.com\/en\/iot\/analyze\/detect-incidents.htm\">Detect Incidents<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/doc.arcgis.com\/en\/iot\/analyze\/filter-by-geometry.htm\">Filter by Geometry<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/doc.arcgis.com\/en\/iot\/analyze\/calculate-distance.htm\">Calculate Distance<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/doc.arcgis.com\/en\/iot\/analyze\/join-features.htm\">Join Features<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, both the <a href=\"https:\/\/doc.arcgis.com\/en\/iot\/analyze\/detect-incidents.htm\">Detect Incidents<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/doc.arcgis.com\/en\/iot\/analyze\/join-features.htm\">Join Features<\/a> tools have been updated. Detect Incidents in real-time analytics now returns incident duration in milliseconds instead of seconds, to better align with the tool specification. And Join Features now allows the target feature&#8217;s geometry to be replaced with the geometry of the join feature.
