This update makes QuickCapture a more powerful data collection tool, without compromising its simplicity. It adds support for multiple button user inputs, Juniper&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/junipersys.com\/products\/geode?gclid=CjwKCAjwsMGYBhAEEiwAGUXJaW_20PGcPaBbjgGzz55N1jy0nRPb5sYN0m24vSYLYB57NJtwiEr5WRoCs9sQAvD_BwE\">Geode GNS3<\/a> high accuracy receivers, and more!<\/p>\n<h2>Multiple button user inputs<\/h2>\n<p>Capturing data with ArcGIS QuickCapture boils down to pushing a big fat button. Button pressed, field observation added to the map! If configured appropriately with <em>device variables<\/em>, you can also have additional attributes automatically calculated: direction and speed of travel, time-of-capture, horizontal accuracy and many others. That is the basic idea and the most common pattern of use for the app: push a QuickCapture button and the app does the rest.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/community.esri.com\/t5\/arcgis-quickcapture-blog\/understanding-user-inputs-in-arcgis-quickcapture\/ba-p\/892208\">User inputs<\/a> are used to let field workers manually enter extra information, without losing the fluent big button user experience of QuickCapture.<\/p>\n<p>Up until now, you could only configure a single <a href=\"https:\/\/doc.arcgis.com\/en\/quickcapture\/help\/editproject.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_6A5AEF47CBD7434387ED74694681A130\">button user input<\/a>. That is, one button, one button user input. With this update, you can now add up to three.<\/p>\n<p>Say you are using QuickCapture to do a quick inventory of fire hydrants in the city. Without button user inputs, you can easily collect the location, the type and take a photo. Configuring button user inputs you can also report, for example, its condition, model and a brief note.\u00a0 Many thanks to Andy Wells and all supporters of his <a href=\"https:\/\/community.esri.com\/t5\/arcgis-quickcapture-ideas\/multiple-button-user-inputs\/idi-p\/1137119\">ArcGIS Idea<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Don&#8217;t know how to setup multiple button user inputs? <a href=\"https:\/\/mediaspace.esri.com\/media\/t\/1_rz8vmyc6\">Check this video<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Button user inputs for lines and polygons: Before or after?<\/h2>\n<p>As Arnaud puts it in this <a href=\"https:\/\/community.esri.com\/t5\/arcgis-quickcapture-ideas\/a-simple-but-essential-improvement-for-button-user\/idi-p\/1081604\">ArcGIS Idea<\/a>, this is a simple but essential enhancement. By default, QuickCapture shows button user input dialogs after a feature is collected. For example, if you are documenting a manhole, the button user input dialog appears after you tap the manhole button. That is all fine, except when collecting a line, or multiple lines at once. Waiting until the line is finished before you can populate its attributes can be problematic. With this update you can now present the user input dialog when the line starts, or when it finishes.\u00a0 If configuring multiple button user inputs, you can choose some to be shown a the start, and others at the end!<\/p>\n<p>Watch this <a href=\"https:\/\/mediaspace.esri.com\/media\/t\/1_rz8vmyc6\">video<\/a> to learn how to configure your line button user inputs.<\/p>\n<h2>Juniper&#8217;s Geode GNS3 support<\/h2>\n<p>This release incorporates support for the GNS3 series from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.esri.com\/partners\/juniper-systems-inc-a2T70000000TNX0EAO\">Esri Bronze Partner Juniper Systems<\/a>. The <a href=\"https:\/\/junipersys.com\/products\/geode\">GNS3S<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/junipersys.com\/products\/geode\">GNS3M<\/a> high accuracy GNSS receivers connect to ArcGIS QuickCapture via bluetooth. Once connected, not only you benefit from higher accuracy location data, but also from additional metadata describing the quality of data you are collecting.\u00a0\u00a0 Like <a href=\"https:\/\/doc.arcgis.com\/en\/quickcapture\/help\/highaccuracyuse.htm\">other compatible GNSS receivers<\/a>, support is provided for iOS, Android and Windows devices.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>New device variable: SessionId<\/h2>\n<p>Use device variables to automatically populate GIS attributes. Speed, horizontal accuracy, device model or data collection time are some common ones. QuickCapture supports more than 50! <a href=\"https:\/\/doc.arcgis.com\/en\/quickcapture\/help\/editproject.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_623F8C96724944728C33991B959B693F\">Check the complete list here<\/a>.\u00a0 Now you have one more: SessionId.<\/p>\n<p>The new SessionId variable is useful if you are taking advantage of <a href=\"https:\/\/doc.arcgis.com\/en\/arcgis-online\/administer\/configure-location-tracking.htm\">Location Sharing<\/a>. When location sharing is activated, the user&#8217;s track is identified with a unique session_id. Map the SessionId device variable to a GIS attribute of the features you are collecting to associate tracks and is an example: Say you are configuring QuickCapture to combat poaching in an African National Park.\u00a0 You set your project to require location sharing.\u00a0 By having the session_id be stored with every observation, you can later in the office tell which observations are linked to which track.<\/p>\n<h2>Project User Inputs in sync with domains<\/h2>\n<p>Create a new project user from a field with a domain and QuickCapture will automatically show all the domain values as a list to the end user.\u00a0 In fact, if you change the domain values, QuickCapture will update the list
