Administrators and members are encouraged to <strong>configure Map Viewer as their primary map viewer<\/strong>\u00a0to take advantage of the new capabilities and enhancements that are delivered with each update.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong> New features and capabilities, based on the latest JavaScript 4.x\u00a0 API foundation, found in Map Viewer, such as effects, blending, group layers, new styles, and more, are only supported in other JavaScript API 4.x apps. These include ArcGIS Instant Apps, ArcGIS Expression Builder, ArcGIS Dashboards, and ArcGIS StoryMaps. Older configurable apps and app builders do not support these newer features and capabilities.<\/p>\n<p>With this update, Map Viewer has been enhanced with new capabilities and features, including the following:<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 115%;\"><strong>ArcGIS Arcade expression editor<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/developers.arcgis.com\/arcade\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>ArcGIS Arcade<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0is an expression language that is supported across ArcGIS. It can be used to perform calculations, manipulate text, and evaluate logical statements. Arcade exists within a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/developers.arcgis.com\/arcade\/#functions-and-profiles\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">profile<\/a>, or context, that defines the parameters that are available to the script as global inputs and the output expected from the script.<\/p>\n<p>An enhanced <a href=\"https:\/\/links.esri.com\/agol-help\/arcade\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ArcGIS Arcade expression editor<\/a> is introduced with this update, and is available when configuring styling, pop-ups, and other layer visualization properties in Map Viewer. A new Clustering (Chart) style enables the the configuration of pie chart clusters that show the proportions of categories in each cluster using pie or donut symbols.<\/p>\n<p>Aggregation summary statistics (mean, min, max, mode) are now automatically calculated for bins and clusters.<\/p>\n<p>Clustering is also now supported in additional projections as alternatives to Web Mercator and WGS 1984.<\/p>\n"},{"acf_fc_layout":"content","content":"<p style=\"font-size: 115%;\"><strong>Symbol styler updates<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Hatch symbols were introduced in the June update, and with this update additional settings are now available to <strong>adjust the hatch pattern<\/strong>. Multidimensional imagery layers can contain many slices of data. You can now <a href=\"https:\/\/doc.arcgis.com\/en\/arcgis-online\/create-maps\/set-image-display-properties.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_2DF985D941E34730BB9D8077E622F3DF\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">configure settings for multidimensional imagery layers<\/a> to visualize a particular slice within a multidimensional imagery layer and specify which slices are displayed in the map.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 115%;\"><strong>Related records in pop-ups<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Some layers you add to Map Viewer may contain preestablished relationships to other tables or layers through a common field. For example, a layer showing buildings may have a preestablished relationship to a table with information about each building&#8217;s tenants. You can create data relationships within geodatabases in ArcGIS Pro and publish the data to ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Server. Some of the analysis tools, such as Summarize Within, create relationships for you if you choose a field to group statistics.<\/p>\n<p>You cannot create relationships in Map Viewer, however if\u00a0your layers have relationships, you can now <a href=\"https:\/\/doc.arcgis.com\/en\/arcgis-online\/create-maps\/configure-pop-ups-mv.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_723223B95EB642FE94DC16E01B7792B0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">show related records in pop-ups<\/a>. <span class=\"ph\">Map Viewer<\/span> supports one-to-one and one-to-many relationships.<\/p>\n<p>To show related records, from the pop-ups pane click <strong>Add content<\/strong>, then choose <strong>Related records<\/strong>. The related records appear along with other content blocks you may configure. Heat maps are useful when many of the points on the map are close together or overlapping, making it difficult to distinguish between features. They are effective for displaying layers that contain a large number of points.<\/p>\n<p>A new slider in Map Viewer allows you to soften the edges of a <a href=\"https:\/\/doc.arcgis.com\/en\/arcgis-online\/create-maps\/style-location-mv.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_2DFD98C91EAE47A4BAE846E5DE75E978\">heat map<\/a>, providing additional cartographic control of your map&#8217;s appearance by focusing on the hot spots and removing the prominence of outlier
