The whole motto of the conference is &#8220;Digital Twins&#8221;. We&#8217;re here in full force showcasing many of our fantastic Esri products, telling our 3D story, connecting the dots behind <a href=\"https:\/\/www.esri.com\/en-us\/digital-twin\/overview\">Digital Twins<\/a>&#8230;it&#8217;s very interesting to be here, to see how people&#8217;s definitions of Digital Twins vary across industries, products and capabilities. It&#8217;s equally as interesting to be showcasing the new ArcGIS CityEngine 2022.1.<\/p>\n<p>One of the main features we worked on for the ArcGIS CityEngine 2022.1 release is the connection between ArcGIS Urban and ArcGIS CityEngine. You&#8217;ve been asking (rightfully so) for the possibility to save changes per scenario, search for ArcGIS Urban models by name in the Navigator etc.<br \/>\nNow you can do all this with the Urban Integration &#8230;and much, much more.<\/p>\n<p>Keep reading for some major updates in our tutorials (these will help you reach expert level in no time), some crisp high resolution basemaps (8k who dis? &#8211; also no more nasty server time-outs when downloading the basemaps &#8211; sorry about that!) and lots of other improvements.<\/p>\n"},{"acf_fc_layout":"kaltura","video_id":"1_gc9p1his","time":false,"start":0,"stop":""},{"acf_fc_layout":"content","content":"<h1><strong>Drawing and editing shapes and streets<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p>We\u2019ve made many improvements to streets and blocks for improved performance when drawing and editing street networks, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A new <a href=\"https:\/\/doc.arcgis.com\/en\/cityengine\/2022.1\/help\/help-street-and-crossing-shapes.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_4F06AD7D95D941C6A7EE8DC93075CC69\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Reverse Direction<\/a>\u00a0tool to the Graph menu reverses the direction of graph segments.<\/li>\n<li>A new <a href=\"https:\/\/doc.arcgis.com\/en\/cityengine\/2022.1\/help\/help-graph-overview.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_EFAAF022D12B4CA9B0E1C1024852F799\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Intersect Segments<\/a>\u00a0tool option in the street creation tools automatically creates a node where segments cross each other.<\/li>\n<li>The Smart node type has been removed and the default type for nodes is now Crossing &#8212; this avoids unwanted roundabouts at street ends when importing or drawing streets. When loading an old scene, the Smart type is replaced by the current node type.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h1><strong>Integration with ArcGIS newest release also brings major enhancements to ArcGIS Urban integration, including the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Improved the Save changes to Urban tool: it is now possible to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/doc.arcgis.com\/en\/cityengine\/2022.1\/help\/help-urban-integration.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_F4BBBB93D1274BAD8FD6238180D4FA94\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">save changes per scenario<\/a>\u00a0to\u00a0ArcGIS Urban.<\/li>\n<li>The Save changes to Urban dialog box now shows improved error messages when there is insufficient permissions, and a warning when the zoning and building types have been changed.<\/li>\n<li>You can now search in Navigator for ArcGIS Urban models by name, and the Navigator preview also shows meta info and a preview of ArcGIS Urban items.<\/li>\n<li>The ArcGIS Urban tab now directly lists all available plans and projects of a model and no longer filters out models that require updating in the app.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h1><strong>Additional improvements<\/strong><\/h1>\n<h2>Inspector<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Added a new feature that allows you to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/doc.arcgis.com\/en\/cityengine\/2022.1\/help\/help-inspector.htm#ESRI_SECTION2_24BD4DCA726F4DB895F8B0969C1D9C24\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">copy and paste rule attributes<\/a> from one shape to another to make the styling of street networks simpler.<\/li>\n<li>Added\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/doc.arcgis.com\/en\/cityengine\/2022.1\/help\/help-inspector.htm#ESRI_SECTION2_518B76A85E584B5BA449E2AD6A2DEEE9\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">copy and paste functionality for street parameters<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Added\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/doc.arcgis.com\/en\/cityengine\/2022.1\/help\/help-inspector.htm#ESRI_SECTION2_BA0491F36D8B454EB898E2F9DE98A652\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">copy and paste functionality for object attributes<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Improved the performance of the Inspector when working with shapes with many attributes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Get Map Data improvements<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>You can now download basemaps and elevation maps at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/doc.arcgis.com\/en\/cityengine\/2022.1\/help\/cityengine-help-get-map-data.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_3ADEBBF98EE74AC3B63E6850D9B76665\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">8K resolution in Get Map Data<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Sped up downloads and now Get Map Data avoids a download error when selecting small extents.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Procedural modeling language (CGA)<\/h2>\n<p>Alongside general performance improvements, we&#8217;ve also added the new <a href=\"https:\/\/doc.arcgis.com\/en\/cityengine\/2022.1\/cga\/cga-split-and-setback-perimeter.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">splitAndSetbackPerimeter<\/a>\u00a0operation. Designed with the perimeter block development in mind, this operation splits the perimeter of a polygon into sections and applies individual setbacks for each of them.
