For example, you may only want location sharing enabled when mobile workers are on company property or within an event area.<\/p>\n<p>Actions are triggered based upon the enter or exit of an area.\u00a0With the November release of ArcGIS Field Maps, we enhanced the location banner to better support IPS locations. The quality of the IPS location is now displayed directly in the banner, and the location details include additional information, such as source type, floor, and number of transmitters. You can provide local location alerts when a mobile worker crosses a barrier or gate, or enable location sharing within proximity of a given point of interest or asset.<\/p>\n<p>Also in the November release, you can control which features are used as geofences by applying filters. Following our initial integration of a floor filter and ArcGIS IPS, we are continuing to add additional indoor capabilities.<\/p>\n<p>With the November release of ArcGIS Field Maps, we&#8217;ve enhanced the GPS banner to better support IPS locations by presenting <strong>quality information<\/strong> directly in the banner and details such as the source type, floor and transmitters in the location details panel.<\/p>\n<p>If your map is <a class=\"xref xref\" href=\"https:\/\/doc.arcgis.com\/en\/field-maps\/android\/help\/create-a-map.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_A7F9BF0DCF4D433D80FF7ACA2BD5F989\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">floor-aware<\/a> and enabled for editing, you can <a href=\"https:\/\/doc.arcgis.com\/en\/field-maps\/android\/help\/capture.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_0452B6C797B44C909761FAC293A5441C\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">edit indoor features<\/a>. Rather than defining a static filter at the map or feature layer\/view, layer filters in Field Maps provide a way for each individual mobile user to filter based on their current task.<\/p>\n<p>With the November release, fields with coded value domains (text, numeric) and text fields without an associated domain support filtering.<\/p>\n<p>Layer filters can be defined and controlled by the map author in the <a href=\"https:\/\/doc.arcgis.com\/en\/field-maps\/android\/help\/configure-the-map.htm#ESRI_SECTION2_D4A1D89377A3411C8CA25C49F1C28187\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Field Maps web app<\/a>, and used in Field Maps mobile app on Android and iOS. Defining the layers used for data collection, you can create multiple point, line, or polygon layers. If your project demands capture using high-accuracy GPS receivers, you can enable GPS metadata fields for <strong>all layer types<\/strong>, and if capturing elevation, you can enable z-values on all layers.<\/p>\n<p>Once created, you can then <a href=\"https:\/\/doc.arcgis.com\/en\/field-maps\/android\/help\/configure-the-form.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">configure the form<\/a> for each layer. You no longer need to provide online and offline versions of your map.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Form improvements<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When mobile workers are filling out the form, they may enter values for fields that become hidden due to conditional visibility rules. You can decide whether values that become hidden are preserved in the layer by enabling or disabling the check box under <strong>Field values<\/strong> in the <strong>Form settings<\/strong> panel of the <strong>Form builder<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><em>These form improvements are available in ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise 11.1+.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Data Capture improvements<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You can decide whether the map centers on your location when collecting new features from the <strong>App settings<\/strong> page in the Field Maps web app. There are 3 options:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li id=\"ESRI_CHOICE_A996F37B1BA44BD7AEFC5B2D101FC429\"><strong><span class=\"uicontrol\">Center the map and add a point at your location<\/span><\/strong>\u2014When collecting a new feature, the map centers at your location and a point is automatically added.<\/li>\n<li><strong><span class=\"uicontrol\">Center the map at your location<\/span><\/strong>\u2014When collecting a new feature, the map centers at your location without adding a point.<\/li>\n<li><strong><span class=\"uicontrol\">No changes to the map<\/span><\/strong>\u2014When collecting a new feature, the map does not center on your location and no point is added.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We&#8217;ve added snapping as a <a href=\"https:\/\/doc.arcgis.com\/en\/field-maps\/android\/help\/high-accuracy-data-collection.htm#LI_3C8F9915CFA24226969B7D4325CC8A52\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">position source<\/a> when capturing GPS metadata so that you can account for manually placed positions that may inherit spatial accuracy because they may have snapped to an existing location captured using GPS.<\/p>\n<p>When using Trimble GNSS receivers, like the <a href=\"https:\/\/geospatial.trimble.com\/products-and-solutions\/trimble-da2?gclid=CjwKCAiAvK2bBhB8EiwAZUbP1JtFYKg50O_-G6yZWS7D-o6bvISiLlnCPTMwcsWRmCm-x3620Q5siRoCQxAQAvD_BwE\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">DA2<\/a>, we&#8217;ve updated to the latest, released version of the TPSDK. This update includes support for <a href=\"https:\/\/trl.trimble.com\/docushare\/dsweb\/Get\/Document-960790\/White%20Paper%20-%20Deformation%20models%20in%20Trimble%20Access%20&amp;%20Trimble%20Business%20Center.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">local deformation models<\/a> to further improve time-based transformations in areas of large tectonic movement within plate boundaries (where such models are available), providing accurate positions no matter where you are collecting data.<\/p>\n<p><em>These data capture improvements available in ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise 11.1+.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>App Links<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In this update, you\u2019ll find a new addition to the use of <a href=\"https:\/\/doc.arcgis.com\/en\/field-maps\/android\/help\/deploy-your-map.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_F7DE2402BA8743E5BFC4A1241072960E\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">app links<\/a>. We&#8217;ve introduced a lot of exciting new capabilities in this update and in previous releases this year. Here is a look back at our 2022 updates:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.esri.com\/arcgis-blog\/products\/field-maps\/field-mobility\/whats-new-in-arcgis-field-maps-march-2022\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">March 2022 release<\/a> &#8211; calculated expressions, linear referencing support, creating new basic and choice form elements, and pushing location profiles to devices via an MDM.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.esri.com\/arcgis-blog\/products\/field-maps\/field-mobility\/whats-new-in-arcgis-field-maps-may-2022\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">May 2022 release<\/a> &#8211; focused update that introduced support for contingent values.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.esri.com\/arcgis-blog\/products\/field-maps\/field-mobility\/whats-new-in-arcgis-field-maps-june-2022\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">June 2022 release<\/a> &#8211; many new capabilities including Utility Network support, geofencing, ArcGIS IPS, and GPS metadata support for lines and polygons and new partner integrations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We are about to kick off our development efforts for 2023 and it will be an exciting year for Field Maps. We have a number of focused enhancements planned for a February release, and later in the year will bring planning and coordination of mobile work into the product.
