Esri is passionate about our customers and strives to provide a positive customer experience across our business. As part of this commitment, our team recently reviewed user types to understand more about how they are used and if they continue to meet our customers\u2019 needs.<\/p>\n

During an evaluation of our existing user types, we learned customers find them confusing. The feedback received included that people find there are too many user types available, and it is unclear which user types are required when.<\/p>\n

Firstly, thank you for your feedback!\u00a0 This helps us continually improve our offering to better suit your needs. Secondly, we heard you loud and clear and decided to streamline our user types to simplify things for everyone.<\/p>\n

In early 2023, Esri is retiring two user types: Storyteller and Insights Analyst. This will happen for ArcGIS Online customers with the ArcGIS Online February 2023 release. For ArcGIS Enterprise customers, the user types will retire ArcGIS Enterprise v. 11.1 in March 2023. Storyteller User Type Retiring<\/em><\/h2>\n

The Storyteller user type provides users with access to ArcGIS StoryMaps. When the user type retires, ArcGIS administrators will need to assign the Creator user type or a GIS Professional user type to authors looking to access ArcGIS StoryMaps.<\/p>\n
