The NOAA NDFD <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW107119479 BCX9\">uses<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW107119479 BCX9\"> public AWS S3 cloud storage that contains data files of up to 7 days of weather forecast data<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW107119479 BCX9\">. <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW107119479 BCX9\">These data files are<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW107119479 BCX9\"> constantly updating, which requires Jie\u2019s image service to <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun ContextualSpellingAndGrammarErrorV2Themed SCXW107119479 BCX9\">update<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW107119479 BCX9\"> its <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW107119479 BCX9\">reference<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW107119479 BCX9\">s to include <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW107119479 BCX9\">the newest data<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW107119479 BCX9\">. To accomplish this, Jie created two scripts<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW107119479 BCX9\"> in ArcGIS Notebooks<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW107119479 BCX9\">: one to create an image service that references these data files, and another to update <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW107119479 BCX9\">those<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW107119479 BCX9\"> references whenever new data is available.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Creating the image service<\/h2>\n<p><span class=\"TextRun SCXW75833440 BCX9\" lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW75833440 BCX9\">Jie\u2019s first script <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW75833440 BCX9\">has three main steps to create his image service.
