This application allows users to enter data through a form instead of a map\u2019s pop-up, while leveraging the power of the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/resources.arcgis.com\/en\/help\/main\/10.1\/index.html#\/\/00sp0000001z000000\">Web Map<\/a>\u00a0and editable Feature Services. It can be deployed right from ArcGIS Online using the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/doc.arcgis.com\/en\/arcgis-online\/create-maps\/create-map-apps.htm\">\u201cCreate Map App\u201d<\/a>\u00a0workflow or by developers by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/Esri\/geoform-template-js\">downloading the code from GitHub<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Since the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.esri.com\/esri\/arcgis\/2014\/07\/08\/editing-via-pop-ups-got-you-down\/\">release as an Early Adopter template<\/a>\u00a0in July, we\u2019ve improved the GeoForm by listening to your feedback, user testing the app, and adding some nifty features. We\u2019ve fixed nearly 100\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/Esri\/geoform-template-js\/issues\">GitHub issues<\/a>, consisting of feature requests, user experience enhancements, and pesky bugs.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the added features and highlights include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Date-time picker<\/li>\n<li>Field format type support<\/li>\n<li>Ability to change how fields are displayed<\/li>\n<li>Additional\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/bootswatch.com\/\">BootSwatch<\/a>\u00a0styles to choose from (<a href=\"http:\/\/getbootstrap.com\/\">Bootstrap<\/a>\u00a0themes)<\/li>\n<li>Basic\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/Esri\/offline-editor-js\">offline editing<\/a>\u00a0support<\/li>\n<li>Additional coordinate entry types<\/li>\n<li>Localized template to different languages<\/li>\n<li>Subtype and range domain fields support<\/li>\n<li>Full screen button to the map<\/li>\n<li>UI\/UX improvements (based on usability and user feedback)<\/li>\n<li>Lots of bug fixes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>The Future<\/h2>\n<p>We still have a lot to do. Here\u2019s our planned roadmap of enhancements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A view to browse entries via a map or listing<\/li>\n<li>More attachment options<\/li>\n<li>Improved mobile pop-up<\/li>\n<li>Various bug fixes and user interface enhancements<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Other features we are considering:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Author-viewer mode to edit existing submissions<\/li>\n<li>Multiple layer support<\/li>\n<li>Line and polygon features<\/li>\n<li>A group of sample feature services for data collection<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Try It Out<\/h2>\n<p>It\u2019s now a part of the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.arcgis.com\/home\/gallery.html?_ga=1.105345795.1810891079.1410214917#c=esri&amp;t=apps&amp;o=modified&amp;f=configurable\">standard Esri Templates group<\/a>, so you can start building your very own\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.arcgis.com\/home\/item.html?id=931653256fd24301a84fc77955914a82\">GeoForm<\/a>\u00a0right away.<\/p>\n<p>1. Create an an editable feature service, add features only is recommended. Add this layer to your web map.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.esri.com\/esri\/arcgis\/files\/2014\/09\/Capture6.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-42321\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.esri.com\/esri\/arcgis\/files\/2014\/09\/Capture6.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"890\" height=\"598\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>2.
