Where are my readers based? How are people finding my story? Does my audience primarily speak the same language? Are they reading on a desktop computer or a mobile device? What trends are there in user behavior?<\/span><\/p>\n For any item in ArcGIS Online, you can see your <\/span>item views<\/span><\/a> and quickly understand how your story performs compared to other ArcGIS online items. If you don’t already have an account, consider signing up.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n"},{"acf_fc_layout":"content","content":" Google Analytics 4 (GA4)<\/strong><\/p>\n To incorporate GA4 into your story, you will use<\/span>\u00a0your\u00a0<\/span>Measurement ID<\/span><\/strong><\/a> located in the Admin panel<\/a> <\/strong>of Google Analytics. The Measurement ID<\/strong> is a unique identifier assigned to each Property<\/strong> in Google Analytics. You must have a Property<\/strong> and a Data stream<\/strong> to get a Measurement ID<\/strong>. <\/span><\/p>\n If you don’t already have a Property, <\/strong>c<\/span>reate one <\/span>in the <\/span>Admin<\/span><\/strong> panel of Google Analytics. <\/span>Within your Property<\/strong>, create a new <\/span>Data Stream<\/span><\/strong>. When you create a data stream, Google automatically generates a <\/span>Measurement ID.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n Copy this number to your clipboard. It should look something like this: G-XXXXXXXXXX.<\/span><\/p>\n Google Analytics Universal Analytics (UA)<\/strong><\/p>\n With Universal Analytics (UA), you will use your Tracking ID <\/strong><\/a>located in the Admin panel<\/a> <\/strong>of Google Analytics. The <\/span>Tracking ID<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0is found in the\u00a0<\/span>Admin<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0panel of your analytics page under\u00a0<\/span>Tracking Info<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span>Tracking Code<\/span><\/strong>. Copy this number to your clipboard. It should look something like this: UA-XXXXXXXX-X<\/span><\/p>\n Adobe Analytics<\/strong><\/p>\n If you’re using Adobe Analytics, you first create a Report Suite<\/strong><\/a>. You can create a new Report Suite<\/strong><\/a> in your Admin panel<\/strong>. A Report Suite<\/strong> holds data collected from websites and can be customized to fit your data collection needs. You will then configure your Report Suite<\/strong> to capture events correctly for your story. Open a new browser and navigate to ArcGIS StoryMaps<\/a>, then launch the builder for the story you’d like to start tracking. Next, open the Story Settings<\/b> using the …<\/strong> menu in the story header. Click on the Analytics<\/strong> option at the top. Click Enable Analytics<\/strong> and select Adobe Analytics<\/strong> or Google Analytics <\/strong>(you can’t use both analytics services in the same story). Fill in the data for your analytics account. Adding a consent message is optional <\/em>and up to the story author. It’s essential to check your organization\u2019s policies for data collection. Remember, all the data you collect is anonymous; <\/em>there\u00a0is no personally identifiable information collected.<\/p>\n You\u2019ll know your story is collecting analytics when it starts appearing in your analytics dashboard when you search for your story URL or story title. Not seeing any metrics yet?
